An Intimate Wedding in Downtown Austin | Megan + Dan

Megan and Dan's wedding included three staple locations of Austin: Hotel Saint Cecilia for an intimate ceremony, Tiny Boxwoods for a romantic dinner, and The Sunset Room for an incredible reception. The day was a mix of vintage/boho meets classical style. Megan wore a gown designed by Anna Campbell and shoes by Badgley Mischka and was the epitome of beauty and class.

The day began at Hotel Saint Cecilia where the couple said their vows in front of a small handful of friends and family. Their ceremony location was in a tucked away spot on the hotel grounds that allowed Megan to walk directly out of her hotel room and onto the vintage rug lining the aisle. My favorite moment was when Dan's grandma stood up and blessed the couple during the ceremony. I definitely had to wipe away tears at her sweet words. After the ceremony we took some amazing bride and groom photos at the hotel along with some portraits with a vintage 1962 Bentley, their transportation for the day provided by Circle J Vintage Cars.

Next we headed to an intimate dinner at Thompson + Hanson, a gorgeous garden space attached to Tiny Boxwoods. The dinner was delicious and topped off by the couple sharing some of Tiny Boxwoods' famous chocolate chip cookies. After dinner, Megan and Dan entered their reception at The Sunset Room and were greeted by over 200 of their friends and family. Everyone danced and laughed the night away and even enjoyed a surprise appearance by a local mariachi band, Mariachi Capitál! At the end of the evening, Megan and Dan had a colorful exit through handfuls of confetti and then waved goodbye as they drove off in their vintage car. The entire day was absolutely magical and wouldn't have been possible without Megan's wedding planner, Cassie with Bride's Best Friend!

Note from the bride:
My advice for future brides would be to try to focus on planning your day around how you want to feel and worry less about traditional format. Our intimate ceremony allowed us to focus on each other, rather than on the feeling of stage fright, and our intimate dinner allowed us to really enjoy time with our family before the big party started. Focusing on our hopes and feelings for the day allowed us to plan something unique, and it was perfect for us!
Thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped make this day possible!
