Rooted Trumpet Photography Christmas Mini Sessions 2017

This year I was honored to have been asked to partner with a Moms' group in Austin to photograph Christmas-themed mini sessions. I was so excited but also nervous, because I have never put on mini sessions before, and it was definitely more of an undertaking than I expected. One thing you may not know about me is that I worry about the little things, and there were A LOT of little things to plan for.

Twenty six families signed up to come be a part of the awesome two-day event we put on, and by "we" I mean the team of people that were selfless enough to give up their weekend to help me out (my husband, Corbin, and my two good friends, Elise and Dani, who have both recently been featured on RTP's blog). I couldn't have done it without them!

We hosted these mini sessions at Brushy Creek Lake Park, and our scene idea was built around a mantle Corbin and I had at home. We created sign-in sheets, wrapped presents, found Christmasy decor, wrote Christmas cards, and baked cookies for each family to take home. While it was a lot of work and planning, the awesome families we met made it so worth it! We had such a fun weekend of photographing super cute families who loved the scene we put together, the cookies we baked, and the photos they received. All of the little things came together perfectly, and for that, I am so thankful!

Here are some of my favorite moments from our first year of Christmas mini sessions.
Merry Christmas!! :)
